Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive blend of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is a name that she has given her was Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was the first to begin pursuing an interest in music, as a singer and pianist at church. She was a student at Spellman College and began to study the R&B style of Atlanta. Since then, it has been re-mixed and is now element of her set. She has also contributed her singing for The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She was appointed as the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer) approached her for an opportunity to be the choral conductor of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media interest during four consecutive performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
