Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is a famous American woman of business. Her current position is that as president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA's majority owners. A California native Buss grew up in an upper class family. Jerry Buss' father was an entrepreneur in real estate who went on to own the Lakers along with several other companies in the field of sports. The couple divorced in 1972, which caused her to feel like she was abandoned. When she was 19 years old, she began working for the family's business as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. The team was later renamed in the Los Angeles Blades, a professional team of roller hockey. Before becoming vice president for the Lakers, she served as president of Great Western Forum. Buss as well as her five sisters were heirs to the Lakers control following the death of Bussher father in 2013. Each sister had equal rights. Buss was elected president of the Los Angeles Lakers.
